Cullinary Review: Surabaya Snowcake

When I’m in Surabaya that related to my status as a job seeker, I always plan a time to meet my friends. We always have a different place to meet up, but at that time we decided to meet in one of the big mall in Surabaya. We choose mall to the meet up point cause in the mall we can choose any food from many vendors. The favorite meeting up is a food court, a place that serves table and chairs for free with various meals.
My friend tells me that in Surabaya there is new’s food that can bring as a souvenir. My friends and I very curious with this kind of food. This food officially open on Januari that it’s relative newly in Surabaya. Zaskia Sungkar is the brand ambassador. This food name is Surabaya Snowcake and Zaskia Sungkar as a Snow Queen.

Cullinary Review: Bebek Kuali - Batu City

I have a lot of photos and file that soon to be uploaded in my blog, but sometimes I feel like I lazy to edit the photo and lazy to write. So stuck in my folder with draft plan, but never publish it.
I too lazy with my offline world. So there are a lot of drafts that I never touch it. I wish I can be more productive in this month.

For you that usually want to go to Batu, you may look a restaurant that name Bebek Kwali side of the road. The restaurant is not a famous place in Malang, but a long time ago when I was internship, I always take a time to buy a soup and bebek kuali. Another afternoon, I persuade my friend to stop by Bebek Kuali to buy some food.

I buy bebek kuali that serves per piece and bring it to my boarding house. The taste of bebek kuali is very delicious with affordable price. The price at about 19K.
With the flashback memorize, I decide to stop by bebek kuali and buy some bebek kuali. But my sisters say that bebek kuali is temporarily closed until my husband and I visited Malang and know that bebek kuali open with the new place. It’s a good news for me and without thinking twice we visited that place.

That place is same like my last visited, but the new place have a better place then before. The range of the price its about 20K in one piece and at about 60K-90K for one portion of chicken and duck.
I order bebek kuali with rice cause I really miss with that taste. My husband order bebek kremes and my sisters order chicken soup and pepes belut. After chatting together, the food is coming. I already hungry!

My husband and sisters agree that the taste of that food that already serve is tasty and delicious. Its feels like home. I found that bebek kuali is not only in Batu but also in another city, but there is a differentiation between it that make me feel like “tomorrow I’ll be back for another portion of bebek kuali”.

Recipe: How to Make A Meat Siomay

It’s a rainy season and it will be easy to hungry. Need snacking more, but in this rainy season no one selling food around my house or maybe if my lucky day there is a seller around my house... I/m too lazy too move. Hehe

I wanna snacking with small size, delicious, and at least no need worried with the calory of the food but easy to make it. Hmm, I think siomay is the best choice but first I must check my refrigerator to make sure that I have enough ingredients to make siomay. And its surprisingly, that all the ingredients are available in my storage. So let's cook!

Ingredients:
Dumpling skin
Meat
Pepper
Salt
Sugar ½ teaspoon
Garlic
Onion
Carrot
Flour
Tapioca flour
Green onion (optional)
Water

How to make:
Minced meat and mixed with water, salt, and pepper
Mashed it with the food processor
Minced the carrot or maybe rasps it
Crush garlic and onion. Make sure that the amount of garlic is more than an onion. For comparison it up to you cause I haven’t the exact size.
Mixed the meat with tapioca, a tablespoon of flour, green onion, sugar, and crushed garlic and onion
Mixed it well and add water until the dough have a better texture
For carrot it’s an optional. You can make it for topping also mixed it. For me, I like to mixed it, but in other hand my husband dislike its
Make the dough like a ball
Take a dumpling skin, then put the dough into the dumpling skin
Steamed it at about 30 minutes
Siomay already serves with peanut or chilli sauce
FYI, you can make friend siomay too its up to you, but for healthy reason I choose steamed siomay. You can serve siomay with soup broth for the side dish. Its simple but delicious

Do you like siomay too?
